Hi. How good is the ASU / Barrett College pre-med program and acceptance rates to top med programs? An ASUNow 2014 article stated that their pre-med students are enrolling at Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia, Harvard, Stanford, Northwestern, Mayo and University of Chicago, to name a few. Is that what one can expect given good GPA and MCAT scores? What I am trying to get at is whether a non-selective state school status be a hindrance in med school acceptance. Aiming for UCLA, USC range. Thanks.
@Angelino - the undergrad ‘name’ is not as important as the two other aspects you mention, GPA and MCAT. My DS started PreMed. It was not a fit for him in the end. But, the advisors are very helpful to students who want Med school. One of his friends is in the U of A med program right now.
