Hello! My son will be a class of 2022 business school student. I see classes start on 8/18 but does anyone know if Freshman arrive early for orientation and move in? Also, do the students need to take math placement tests before the two hour Zoom orientation, or a live orientation at school? TY!
@marketingmom - if memory serves…freshman move-in will be on 8/13 and 8/14 for a class start of 8/18. Is your son in Barrett?
RE: placement tests - Based on some info I can find on the ASU website, yes, they need to take the placement exam prior to orientation. They will complete their class selection for Fall semester during orientation. ALEKS Mathematics Placement Assessment (Required) | ASU Students | ASU There is no date on this document, so it may be different.
“All incoming first-year students must complete the ALEKS Mathematics Placement Assessment before attending orientation and enrolling in classes, including incoming first-year students who have already received AP math credit. Transfer students are also required to take the Math Placement Assessment unless they have transferred an equivalent prerequisite course for the ASU mathematics course they intend to take. If you think you have a course that you can transfer in, please check https://transfer.asu.edu/credits and use the Transfer Credit Guide. It is recommended that all students take the Mathematics Placement Assessment just in case their course doesn’t count as an equivalent prerequisite.”
@marketingmom - Two of my sons are ASU grads '18 and '21. Most of my info is fairly current. I am happy to help if I can.
