ASU Honors College vs. University of Washington Honors College

I’ve been accepted by Barrett, the honors college at ASU and will probably be accepted by UW honors (1530 SAT and 3.89 GPA).

I was awarded about $68,000 in merit scholarships from ASU so the overall costs are about the same for the two because I live in WA.

So, which one do you all think would be the better choice? I don’t really get homesick so the proximity to home isn’t really a factor. I’m also going into mathematics/econ so take that into consideration.

Any advice would be very helpful, especially from current students! Thanks in advance.

My bad, I’ve not been accepted by ASU’s honors college, just the university! Hopefully later I’ll be accepted by the honors college.

ASU is widely renown for being a party school, but I do believe you can get a good education there. My major is CS/econ and when I spoke with a tour guide (who was a really smart econ student), she said many kids from the econ department end up at Ivy league schools for grad school. The department is excellent. Also UW is full of vibrant and determined individuals. I visited there and everything was amazing. The campus had so many restaurants, fitness centers, libraries, lecture halls, recreation centers - and not to mention it’s in Seattle! If it were me, I would choose UW anyday.
