ASU Questions

Hi, I was wondering if you could first of all give me my chances for getting into the honors college at ASU, and secondly, can you give me your opinion about how good ASU is for medical/biological sciences even if I don’t get into the honors college? And finally, would ASU be a good choice for medicine if I DO get into the honors college?

Keep in mind that I am OOS also…

Here are my stats:
*I am an Asian Indian Male
*From a competitive public high school in Oregon, Beaverton High School, which was also rated the best AP school in Oregon, so yeah, its a smart school.

Right now I get about a 1920-2050 on the SAT, 26-30 on ACT according to Practice Tests for SAT, and the PLAN (it’s like the PSAT for SAT except the ACT version) on ACT. Obviously, these scores suck a$$, but these are all I ahve to work with. So can you please please please give me my chances for the honors college?

You have a fairly good chance at getting into the honors college; however, for the sciences and medicine, I'd check out University of Arizona, it's stronger.

I have very similar stats to yours, IB, test scores, GPA, etc. and got the highest scholarship ASU gives, haven't finished honors college app yet though.

you'll get in.make sure and take the PSAT this year (your junior year) to see if you can muster up a score high enough for a NMF scholarship there.D is an Honors College at ASU grad and had many pre med/pre dent/pre pharm friends. Everyone did fine on respective professional school admits and she has friends in med, dent, law, pharm schools all over the US now.
She's in a musicology PhD program now at Wash U (St Louis).Their record of grad school placement is strong.

I went to Westview highschool two years ago. I am going to ASU for BA management right now. I dont think you would have any trouble getting in. Good luck

My D and I just got back from "Sun Devil's Day" at ASU. They told us that the Barrett Honors College was recently ranked #1 in the nation (I don't know who is doing the ranking). We spoke with a number of students in the Honors college who said that being in it has opened many doors for them.

You will have no trouble getting in. ASU is excellent (as is UA--and they too have an honors college, but Barrett is better than the one at UA).

(re-warming this thread)

Does getting the National Merit Finalist Scholarship mean you are a near-sure bet for the Barrett Honors College?

From the stuff they're sending me for getting NM, I think it's more than a sure bet of acceptance...

Big scholarship for NMS

I believe the above applies to National Hispanic too... correct?
