ASU vs U AZ engineering

Can someone give me their opinions/experience of engineering at either one of these schools? I’m interested in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering, buth have offered good merit money.

JGPSanit12,

I can’t really answer your question, because I am also a high school graduating senior. I am actually in an almost identical situation as you. I plan on attending either ASU or U of A and as of right now I am registered for Aerospace Engineering - although I am considering switching to the broader mechanical field. Anyways, I am curious if you decided between the two and, if so, what factors played a role in your final decision??

ps. sorry that I didn’t answer your question and instead asked my own question :/

I’m still deciding.
I’m thinking if I go to AZ, I will pick U of A. I’m out of state and both schools gave me really good scholarships, but UofA gave me Work Study too. I visited both schools. ASU’s liveliness and location are really exciting, but I worry about the distractions and size. I did like the facilities I saw. UoA seemed a much smaller, tighter program, but I can major in Mechanical there and minor in Aerospace. That was something I was looking for. I wasn’t crazy about the location though. I did get into the Engineering Zone at UofA. Engineering wise I don’t see huge difference in either school. I was trying to get info from the inside about this.
I have a couple of other things I’m looking for too: club sport that I really want to play and potential of Greek life. Can I afford either of them? Are they too Greek if you know what I mean. School spirit at sports. How area supports the school? Potential for internships and co-op.
Truth is I may be going to Georgia Tech. It was my top choice and I just got enough grant money to keep it in the running. It’s a MUCH better engineering school and closer to home on east coast. I’ll owe some more $ in the end.
