ASU VS University of WAshington Industrial Engineering

Hello,
I am an international Student.
I have got two admit from University of Washington and Arizona State University
My major is Industrial Engineering.
Please help me in choosing one.Thank you.

Both have good engineering programs, so I would suggest you to consider

Class Size,Cost of attendance, weather, college life.

BTW I am most probably heading to ASU for my undergrad in mechanical engineering.

P.S. There are a lot more hot girls in Arizona
Consider it if u want to.

Thank man for your reply,
Class size of UW is 45 and for ASU it is 90/120.
ASU is great in terms of jobs , parties, chicks. Bt its not as prestigious as UW is.
I am not able to find anyone from UW. Do you know about the Job scenario post MS
at UW???

There is a small company called Boeing and zillion more feeder companies near Seattle (Everett, Renton) and apparently they hire a lot of ME & IE grads from UW.

Thanks for your reply, that was really helpful. Even I saw profile of many IE engineers at UW working for Boeing.
Do you know what kind of job one does at Boeing? Probably its related to transportation and air traffic control. Isnt it? Actually I prefer to work as Analyst for a company/ Consultancy. Do have any contact of any one studying IE there ?..

I know IE means different things to different people and is highly interdisciplinary in nature. That’s why most of the faculty is made up of adjunct or affiliate profs. Core group is generally small compared to other departments.

At Boeing you can find all kinds of jobs. You can’t think of them as transportation specific even though the final products are mostly planes. They do have a large group in Seattle that focuses on satellite communications, surveillance etc. but they generally don’t hire foreign grads for that group.

I don’t live in Seattle but I do have a very close relative who is a freshman at UW I am not sure he knows much about IE. He is into Physics and CS.

You have Microsoft! They hire loads of people from UWash. Another Seattle based company is Starbucks. Amazon is another place…

^ OP was asking about employment opportunities for IE grads.

For CS grads there are many more places in Seattle including Google and Facebook.

UW campus has undergone major renovations in many areas thanks to generous donations from Paul Allen, Gates and Paccar.

Molecular Engineering & Sciences @ UW is amazing.

This facility will be one of the best in the world.

PS: freak, it is UDub, not UWash. :p

back to Sally’s p-adic fields

^Microsoft does hire IE grads. Although not as much as software engineers…

And what’s UDub? O.o
