Is this true? I’m from maryland and i didn’t do well sophmore and freshman year but I improved massively junior year and I calculated with my counselor that I could get 3.8 gpa weighted. Is this around average do they look at improvement? I didn’t do well because of depression but I dealt with it junior year and got myself together. Wat SAT score should I get?

See above link for freshman profile. I think avg wGPA was 4.2 but not 100% sure. Maybe someone else can confirm…
Oh so my counselor was wrong?
@FromMD is my counselor wrong?
This is right off UMD-CP website and are averages:
Fall 2016 admitted freshman profile:
GPA: 4.21
SAT middle 50%: 1260-1420
ACT middle 50%: 29-33
@dodgeman711 - Was your GC wrong? Not necessarily… But you will have to ask your GC what (s)he meant. There are so many grading systems used by different school districts. I believe UMD uses MCPS system - honors, APs, IBs are weighted to 5 pts and regular courses are 4 pt based. So, if your school district uses a different system, then it is possible that 3.8 of your system equates to something higher in MCPS. Hope this makes sense.
@FromMD I think he used UMD’s grading system to calculate my weightted gpa
At admitted students day they said “average admitted GPA is 4.22”
That doesn’t include freshman connection (spring admit) people though I believe
If you had a health issue freshman & sophoore year, you can see if your GC will address it in their recommendation.
