At GT, is it possible to get your degree in computer and electrical engineering?
I know that the two fields are highly related. If i wanted to work for a company like microsoft or google (i know they are really hard to get into), would i be better fit for doing electrical engineering or computer engieering? I am more keen about electrical, but computer sounds interesting also. Would it be possible to get dual degrees? I would not mind spending an extra year to do it.

If you read the curricula, there are only a couple of courses that are different between the two majors. Doing only one will establish your credentials just fine. No need for two. How many times would you go to high school? :-)

During orientation for EE they actually advised us NOT to get both degrees because industry will recognize them as being almost identical.

Cmpe invloves more programming so that would be a better fit for a software company. Though if you want to work for google/ms, computer science would be a better fit. I don't think they are looking for many guys whose primary background is in analog/digital circuits....
