At this point is it worth it?

I'm still struggling in math, and I've read numerous posts lauding the "PWN the SAT" book. I visited the website, and the information is well written and keeps me engaged as a reader. I have Gruber's and Dr. Chung's, but both are pretty bland. Should I even bother to buy the book, or will the info on the website suffice? The book is pretty expensive, so I'm a bit worried. If I order from amazon, I'd have to order overnight or two day shipping, as there is very little time left.

Do you know which concepts you are struggling with (geometry, algebra, etc)? I have another book I’d recommend that I used, but it would be the same situation in that you’d have to overnight it and you are reeeeeally pushing the deadline for the Oct 6 SAT. Everyone is different, but for me to get something to really take hold I need to practice for a week or two, just a little practice each day. This is not to say it cannot be done, b/c everyone is different and your situation may not need as much work.

My advice though is regardless of what book you use or not, figure out what concepts you struggle with and practice them like crazy. Go to purplemath.com b/c they have some good tutorials and khanacademy.org can take you thru the entire SAT math section one question at a time. Finally, make sure your test taking skills are good to go b/c all the practice in the world is worhtless if you are making mistakes! The main thing i’d recommend for that is to only use your calculator for checking work. When you practice, FORCE YOURSELF to work it out mentally and on paper; this will make you think about what you are doing so you do not just accidentally plug in numbers and spit out the wrong answer. The SAT purposefully has the “most common incorrect answers” as answer choices just for that reason!

PWNtheSAT has an e-book version which is sold on Google Play, I think.

Would you guys recommend the PWN the SAT book? It’s $30, which is pretty expensive, but I’ll buy it if it’s worth it. Has it helped you guys any in terms of score improvement?

What don’t you know? Any particular concept? Look up Khan’s academy and see if anything helps you. the lessons are incredibly concise and helpful. All free.
