At UMass Amherst, My Spring bill had went from $5K to $10K after the semester ended but it can't be appealed after spring classes end. What do you think? Is there nothing I can do?

I emailed the UMass Amherst Financial Aid about why my bill for the spring doubled in June, and it is because I had taken a semester withdrawal, reducing the amounts in federal subsidized and unsubsidized loans. They said its because they weren’t noted about the reduction until June, and the Spring bill can’t be appealed after the last day of spring classes which was in May (I asked to clarify that date). What do you think?

I think rules are black and white. You can sit down with a counselor but rules are rules it’s likely not within their discretion. But meet with someone and see.
