<p>Could somebody please give me some info about the athlete’s life at Amherst? Will my life become very tough if I want to do science while playing sports for Amherst? I am still thinking if I need to contact the coach since I am not sure whether I will succeed academically while doing sports. Thanks for any response!</p>

<p>Interesting the % of students that are varsity athletes is highest at the top LACs like Amherst … something like 1/4 to 1/3 of Amherst students are varsity athletes … so lots of Amherst students are making the student-athlete combo work.</p>

<p>It can be challenging depending your major, your time management habits, social life, etc. As 2togo points out, though, many students DO manage it!</p>
