<p>At the Ivies and top LAC's, how much weight does being a recruitable athlete carry?</p>
<p>Top LACs, not so much. Ivies, if you're on the coach's recruit list, plenty of weight. But the coach has to say that they want you AND support you through the admissions process.</p>
<p>Williams, Colgate, I imagine othe LACs, do recruit, even for girls. Each coach is given x number of spots, as long as those atheletes have over a certain GPA, which most of time is quite low. Many students from my D's school got into Ivies and top LACs that way - don't get me started it on that.</p>
<p>In my experience, with Tufts, the coach can pre-approve you with admissions, but they're not going get you in easier.</p>
