I am currently looking to be recruited for football at the University of Chicago, and I was curious if I can be admitted with scores/grades/ect. below the standards of UC. I have a 32 ACT and 3.7-3.8 UW GPA so I am not out of question on being admitted, but does the football coach have any sway with how his potential recruits get accepted.

Maybe repost on the UoC forum for better replies? Good luck to you

Simple answer: Yes. With those stats and support from the football coach (but note - this really ought to be official support a la a “tip” or a “slot”) you will probably get into Chicago. I recommend checking out this form for responses; lots of folks there will be happy to help you: [Athletic Recruits - College Confidential](Athletic Recruits - College Confidential Forums)
