Athletic Scholarship and Financial Aid

<p>I have a general question that I hope someone that has a scholar-athlete currently can answer. </p>

<p>For easy math sake: If your EFC is $15,000 and your child receives a "half" scholarship that would take you down to $20K (say Full COA is $40K). Would you pay $15K or 5K? Does that make sense? I know that with academic scholarships they are typicall taken off before the financial aid (in other words the scholarship is used against the families EFC).</p>

<p>Well, you can’t really combine need-based FA grants from the school with athletic scholarship money in a D1 program. You pick one or the other. Here’s a good thread on the topic:
