<p>What advantage does a high caliber athletic resume offer to admission to Yale?
My D is an All Scholastic softball player with 4.0 GPA and 2100 new SAT's.
Great work ethic and motivation with strong leadership skills.</p>
<p>Haven't heard much discussion on this board about "tips" etc. the coaches have.</p>

<p>I know a not so amazing football player who got in without taking SAT IIs... I think it makes a huge difference.</p>

<p>my d is being recruited by Yale for swimming....she swims as fast as many of the second place best times for the 2004-2005 season , but her ACT needs help....great grades, ap and honor classes....do you know if they have slots for swimmers...</p>
<p>I have no idea. I'm just a student. I've just observed that the standards for athletes are significantly lower than for nonathletes. That's not to say that there aren't brilliant recruited athletes. I've met many of those as well.</p>

<p>Recruited athletes do not need to have the same SATs/grades as others. An athlete with a low B average got into Yale from our school recently. It depends on if you are recruited and if they really want you on the team. You need to contact the athletic department and they will tell you what coach to get in touch with and you take it from there.</p>
