I heard that if you are good at a rare sport, Harvard would really like your application. Would being a male and participating in varsity figure skating be a plus compared to some other sports?

Yes, because there are less males in figure skating, than say, in football. This would reduce the amount of competition to get to the top of your sport. However, your accomplishments would consequentially receive less recognition. Therefore you would really have to be one of the best in your sport, for you division. Are you sure you are unsure about your gender?

But remember, it wouldn't be a tangible plus, since figure skating is not offered at Harvard as a varsity sport.
