Athletics and College Admission

We are just beginning the college search with our son who is an accomplished 2 sport athlete and B student at one of the top prep schools in the East. He would like to go to a Div 3 college where he can combine a great education with great athletics. His top choices are the NESCAC schools (Colby, Bowdoin, Trinity have shown significant interest in him athletically) and clearly he will need a "tip" to gain admission as his grades are a bit below the standard. He should be in range for SAT scores.

How does banding/academic index work at the NESCACs? Anyone been through this before?

I'd like to know too, I've been playing soccer all through middle and high school and I'm wondering whether that will help me get into college or get some scholarships.

MOMofaknight - Son was recruited by a NESCAC school this past year. I sent you a PM (personal message). PM your questions.

I've also sent you a PM regarding recruiting and college guidance.

lots of info on an old thread I started...
