I was accepted to Mudd, and am definetly attending. The only thing left up in the air is whether to run XC. I am not very good, but I've noticed my grades and general attitude are so much better when I am running than when I am not. At the same time, I know that if I study my rear end off at Mudd, I still won't have the GPA I do now without studying. I don't expect it to be easy by any means, and I love my sport, but not at the cost of my academics. Can any Mudd athletes share their experiences?

I was also accepted to Mudd in ED1 and I will also attend for sure next year. I run XC and track as well and plan on running at Mudd. I also live in Claremont, so I wanted to check out the team and talk to the runners about how they balance their academics with athletics. They told me that they definitely do have to manage their time really well, but they make it work because XC and track is something worth doing, especially in college. If it helps your grades and general attitude, which I hope means that you love running, then at least try it out! I hope I helped at least a little bit

I’ve been thinking about it more and more and I’m almost sure I want to do it. I’m just not ready to give up such a big part of my life!

Although I’m doing my first triathlon in June, so that may bring me into another world entirely!

I’m definitely doing XC and Track next year…for me it’s gonna be important to keep my life balanced with studying and keeping in shape. Good luck on the triathalon!!!

Thanks! It was on my list of “things to do before I graduate”! See you in Claremont in August!
