Athletics at Tufts

Due to a variety of reasons, I did not participate in a sports in high school. However, one of the things that I want to do in college is sports. Is it difficult to participate in sports at Tufts? This probably sounds stupid, but how do I go about doing so?

I'm not an expert, but I believe you can play intramural or club sports. It sounds pretty easy to join.

for more information on athletics at tufts I would check this out

That is the athletics website.

There are sports at Tufts?

This is news to me

From the times I've visited Tufts, I hear it's pretty easy to join a sport; club, varsity or otherwise.

If you want to play varsity, email the coach and ask about open tryouts. He/she might want you to also send a tape though. It depends. For example, if I get off the waitlist, I'm definitely going for varsity volleyball. It's one of the main reasons I wanted to go to Tufts in the first place. A chance to play laid-back yet intense enough athletics.

Tufts Volleyball team is good. They ended the season ranked #2 in New England. They had a great season going 28 - 6. They recruit players, but also have open tryouts.

Yeah, that's exactly what their coach told me.

sunkist - thats one of the reasons i liked tufts too - esp. cause most of the other schools i looked at were D1 and I'm not (yet, ha) good enough to play d1. Also, the conference tufts plays in is a really competitive d3 conference... so its all good
