Can anyone who is already at Duke, tell me if there is ATM machine inside campus and what Bank or Banks operate it

Bryan Center: Bank of America and Wachovia I think

East Student Union: I think its a generic one

in the BC there's a bank of america, wachovia, and some local bank atm. underneath the marketplace, there's a wachovia atm. there's also a wachovia on 9th st--so it's the closest real bank to campus.

do those ATMs have withdrawal fees at all? I heard that some college campuses have ATMs that have no fees whatsoever.

there are withdrawal fees when you use a different bank's ATM.

I think Wachovia charges either 1.75 or 2.25 dollars of withdrawal fee.

do you guys think it matters whether one uses one of those banks with ATM machines in Duke or not??

i'm using AmSouth and i wonder if i should change it to Wachovia or something.

I'd go ahead and get Wachovia. I'm pretty sure they have an actual bank on campus, and their machines are everywhere, so it will just be more conveniant...no withdrawal fees and you can take care of anything right on campus.

I'm personally sticking with BOA because we already have accounts with 2 banks...I don't need another...lol.

What about SunTrust?

it doesn't matter if you don't use a bank that's currently on campus, but you will have to pay for withdrawl fees. also, there's just ATMs on campus, but there's an actual Wachovia bank just off of East Campus on 9th St.... very convenient if you need to deposit checks or whatnot. there's also bank of america nearby, but i'm not sure where b/c i don't bank with them... a lot of my friends do though.

The Bryan Center http://www.duke.edu/~maf8/index2.htm

does that generic ATM machine have "Cirrus" or "PLUS" mark???

any update on ATMs on campus, especially East?

Wells Fargo (Wachovia) last I remembered…on East

SunTrust, BofA, and Wells Fargo (Wachovia) in the BC

There’s also a branch of Wells Fargo (Wachovia) in the Duke Hospital South (the one right off main quad. It’s a small office, but definitely a fully functional bank branch. There’s also a WF ATM outside that office.

And as the posters above noted, there’s a full-sized WF branch on the corner of 9th Street and Main St. (above two blocks in the direction of Mad Hatters and Whole Foods)

There will also be bank representatives present at move in should you wish to open an account with any of the banks that have a presence on campus.

In addition to Bryan center and East student union, there is one in the Perkins library. Legend has it, during finals week, no bank fee is assessed! (I kid of course)

wait, seriously? i don’t think i’d ever have a need to withdraw money while in perkins, but where? i’ve never seen it.

I only ever saw a kiosk for adding money to your Flex account or food points. That’s by the main circulation desk.
