Which ones are easier to get to? Bank of America? Citibank? Wells Fargo? Any others? Are they on campus?

yea..do we need a back account???

M&t bank and tomkins trust company both have locations in collegetown

M&T is your best bet

M&T has ATM's in Willard Straight, Appel Commons, Collegetown, and Pyramid Mall. Definitely the best IMO.

i thought there was an hsbc around town as well

there is a hsbc in town, and they have an ATM in WSH

def m&t, they have atms everywhere and a branch right in collegetown and in willard straight

make sure there is a branch of whatever bank by you back home, which makes everything easier. If that doesn't really matter, you can open an account during orientation week. All the banks set up stands at Ho Plaza and they even give out stuff for opening with them, just make sure your parents bring their checkbook.

For those of you who use a bank in Ithaca that also has a branch in your home town, is your account in the Ithaca branch or the hometown branch? Does it matter? Is one more convenient than the other?

it doesn't matter

it doesnt matter, i just have to give my ithaca address when i make withdrawls or deposits at my hometown branch (which is only about 20 min away) i live on long island and i know there are a couple of m&t branches spread out over the island
