My sons are starting to think about Second Year housing. While they are looking at off-campus apartments, they do wonder about the UVA on-Grounds alternatives: Bice, Copley, Faulkner and Lambeth. Basically, they are hoping for more quiet than the dorms currently provide, but fear that the UVA apartments may actually be worse in terms of noise and student celebrations. Any thoughts out there? Thanks!
Just posted in your other thread, but Lambeth is definitely an excellent on-grounds alternative. It is definitely not loud at all; frankly I think it’s more quiet than the first-year dorms. It’s nice because I still feel like I am living “at UVA” vs. living “in Charlottesville” as one would feel in an off-grounds apartment (at least from what I’ve heard from others). I’ve heard similarly good things about living in Bice as well. I imagine Copley and Faulkner are even more quiet, but they are much further away from central grounds (walking to class would be almost unrealistic in my opinion).
