Attaching a Resume

What do they mean by attaching a resume?
Does that mean stating more in detail what was already written in the activities section? Or adding say, adding more info to existing extracurriculars like more positions, awards etc. Also, what's the format? How do most of you guys write it out as?

For instance,

Activities: Junior states of America
Positions held: etc
etc
etc

list goes on

miscellaneous stuff like summer EPGY, girls state blah blah?

The resume does not have to be a "resume" as such but a more
in-depth look at your activities and hours spent alongside awards
and honors won during your 3 yrs of HS.

Check out the book by Michelle Hernandez from your library on filling
out the common app. It has an excellent chapter ont he "resume" with
a really good example.

Think of it as the helpful narrative you might add if you were looking
over the shoulder of the reader of your common app without annoying
them. You can elaborate on your duties and/or results achieved when
holding down a job/position as well here.

My resume just has basically firstly any professional experience I have, then a more specific focus (in my case, campaign experience), and then extracurricular activities, and then education. This really depends though on what sort of activities you do though - for most high school students, besides having a specific category like 'campaign experience' or 'musical ability' or a focus, most people focus on 'extracurricular activities' and education

for the feedback guys,

but NY democrat, in terms of campaign experience, do you mean assisting another running or yourself?

Well, because the theme of my resume is political based (tailor a section or so to your theme) I included that as an aspect, such as being intern for candidates and such. I haven't run for political office myself, no lol. But I assume that, if succesful, would go under professional experience, while if unsuccesful, go under campaign experience, on my resume at least
