◕‿◕ Attempting the impossible UC to UC transfer ♫Chance me plz♫

Hi guys, thank you so much for reading this, this is the continuation of my thread last year :3 "◕‿◕ Attempting the impossible UC to UC transfer "please help""

Im now a 2nd year in UCR and yes i summited my application already for UCI, UCD, UCSB, UCSD, UCLA.

Major : philosophy

My GPA as of winter 3.665, but is going to drop to 3.6ish because im getting a B in one of my classes T.T, but im going to boost it up in spring again 。

Going to have about 100-104 units by the time i transfer.

Going to have my UC reciprocity after my spring quarter as well.

Essays solid not to bad nor too good, have Ecs "too many to list."

My only concern is that i didn't take classes to satisfy a particular UC's major pre reqs. i just took classes that would get me my UC reciprocity and the major pre reqs for my Major here in UCR.

I would love to go to any of the UCs i applied but i would just adore going to either UCSD, UCI and UCLA

Once again Thank you so much for reading and helping me, sorry for poor my grammer :(

Thank you and god bless. ◕‿◕

Morning2kei,

philosophy is not impacted at any of the UC’s, so just that gives you an advantage of admission.

Your GPA looks great, especially coming from UCR.

I’d say you have a great chance at UCI,UCSB, UCD, but all else will be hard for you, considering that UCSD and UCLA have a much greater requirement.

I don’t know if you know this, but just recently UCSD brought up the TAG GPA for CC transfers to 3.5, so that gives you the thought of how hard it’ll be for non-CC students.

I also heard all of the other UC’s will bring up the requirements for CC transfers as well, so that might be harder for UC-UC transfers. And also, just to remind you CC students are given priority above all, so that’s a negative for you.

I personally got admitted to UCR out of high school too, and right now I’m regretting on not going to UCR. I don’t know what’s wrong with UCR, but from my perspectives the classes at UCR are/should be relatively easier than, say, UCSD or UCLA, though, I’ve never studied at UCR. Your chances of getting admitted to grad school will be higher than students who have lower GPA’s at prestigious UC’s like LA and Cal.

Best of luck!

Thank you so much for the reply , im kind of bumped out about the low chances at UCSD, but doesn’t the UCSD Gpa increase apply to applicants next year and onward ? or did it already start this year O.O ?

I think the increase for tag is next year. From what I’ve heard UCSD admitted 3.3 or above last year for UC intercampus transfer. So we should be fine hopefully… I am also applying from UCR to UCSD and many other UCs. I really hope to get into UCSD haha. I have around the same GPA as u little bit higher. I am really worried as well… hopefully we will get in! haha

morning2kei,

Would you mind telling me why you are transferring out of UCR? (you don’t have to)

What don’t you like about UCR? Is it the name?

@slee0103, Omg i have friends transferring just like me!! are you one of them ?!!! lol j/k, but anyone replied to my questions here is a friend in my book :)

@banhbaochien, i really like UCR but the weather here is X.X. But the main reason im transferring is to have more options for my future. If i can’t transfer to other UCs i’ll be happy here in UCR because i know i tired my best, but i’ll be happier if i get some of the UCs i applied to such as UCSD, UCI, ect…

im not saying UCR is a bad school because its definitely not, but i just want to see my options and what my efforts can achieve for me :)

Once again thank you all for the reply !!! and keep them coming :3 chance me

@Morning2kei
lol, im trying to transfer from ucr for the exact same reasons
i really dont dislike the school, just trying to see if i cud maybe go to a school with a little more prestige. I applied to ucla and ucsd, i have a decent amount of ec’s, 3.86 GPA, and im a poli sci major. Hopefully we all have a little luck!!

lol that makes three of us trying to transfer from UCR to other UCs… I want the results already damn haha it takes way too long… waiting is painful…

@jkess001 your Gpa is Amazing !!!

but we’re still waiting waiting :/
