I put in a transfer package back in March for the UT Cockrell School, particularly for a EE major. They are waiting on my spring grades before they give me a decision. My overall GPA looks like it will end up being a 3.8. I am ex military and have work experience in the electrical field as well. I believe that is all the pertinent info I submitted. I was just wondering if anyone who was familiar with the process could let me know what my chances are of getting in.

Edit: I am currently in Calc I and am signed up for Calc II over the summer.

I think you would need Calc I and II done before they could make a decision for Engineering, as it is one of the required prerequisites. You would get rejected from Engineering and be considered for your second choice major.

If your Calculus I is part of a two semester sequence equivalent to UT’s then it’s OK to apply while currently taking Calculus I. If it’s part of a three semester sequence, you must complete the first two before applying.

I applied to the College of Natural Science (CONS) and was accepted. CONS requires completion of Cal I. My CC Cal I, II, III equal UT’s Cal I & II. I am currently taking Cal I but was accepted to CONS. Corkrell may evaluate differently.

Thanks for the replies. CONS was my 2nd choice so hopefully once they get my spring grades they will take me. Beyond that does anyone know if there is a waiting period between starting school at UT and changing your major. Also is there a process that I would have to follow for that.
