Attending College in the Middle East?

I think this is a VERY dangerous choice for him to make. Bipolar and off medication as a devout Christian in a MIddle Eastern country is a recipe for disaster. Bipolar is not something that is cured and I’d think carefully about any physician who recommended that he be off medication entirely. If he becomes manic while thousands of miles away and starts trying to spread his beliefs, his mental illness could become deadly. I also don’t think that weighting 180 at over 6 feet tall sounds at all healthy to me and I’d be worried that he may be actually manic right now. I would get him home before making any choices about college to assess his condition in person, but I certainly wouldn’t send him to the Middle East for college.

I have already decided that if my child were to ever mention taking his white, Christian ass to the middle east, I would arrange for his ceremonial funeral before he left. What would the parents of all those dead ‘aid workers’ think if they read this thread?

Of course, a grown up can do as he wishes. But, I don’t have to support it. Why would anyone else?
