What makes you special, from others, to go to the college you are in? Apart from your stellar scores and GPA. Share them.

I speak multiple languages (and I grew up only speaking English ). You should try to find your own niche and not emulate what others do lol.

@KaranMIT Unless you do something amazing nothing is going to make up for mediocre gpa and test scores. I have read some of your other threads and you seem like you are trying to find the easy way into an ivy institution. Well the truth is if you aren’t qualified to go to an elite college, you will not be going to an elite college. Best of luck

Ivy league candidates not only have stellar perfect scores but also the highest grade point averages and a LOT of LUCK! They compete in amazing sports, all year long, at nationally ranked levels. They have created businesses or are authors, won national awards, and have improved and benefited their communities by building houses, creating food banks, starting tutoring services and these are just some of the wait-listed kids! Their great personalities shine through in the essays and they’ve persevered through challenges. This is a minimum description of what ivies expect.

@aunt bea I was wait listed at 3 ivys, deferred at one, and accepted at another, and I did not do any of those things. Yes I had good scores and this is pretty much required but not everyone in these schools has cured cancer. You can standout in many different ways including your essays and letters of recs.

@Karan,
If u get rejected by MIT or Harvard (which is the likeliest outcome for all applicants), u are going to feel stupid having a handle named “***MIT” or having the Harvard crest as an avatar.

I’ve seen this happen year after year, w many rejected kids having school name in their handle.
