Attending Stanford Cardiothoracic Surgical Skills Summer Internship 2014

I am attending Session 2 this summer and would like to get to know others that are attending the Program. I made a Facebook group that can be found under "Stanford Cardiothoracic Surgical Skills Summer Internship 2014." I'm a junior from South Florida and I'm so excited to meet all of you.

I’m also attending Session 2 of the Cardiothoracic Summer Internship

Awesome! Where are you from?

Taiwan. Did you get a confirmation for the payment from them yet?

Nope.

Oh I did this program last year. It’s a lot of fun :)

@PrincessFaerie‌, did you guys have a lot of free time?
@Rowyee1113‌, I got confirmation of payment.

Session 2 is from mid July to mid August, yes? When does school resume for everyone here?

I am attending Session 2 as well  I’m from the UK. Can’t wait to meet you all!

@PrincessFaierie I am curious whether most of the students who attend are HS students vs college pre-med students?

@grx567‌ I’ve been wondering about that too. @Meimay‌ I start school about a week and a half after the program ends.

I also did CSSSI last year. @grx567‌ for my session, most of them were HS students. I think there were ~5 pre med students.

^^thanks for the information. I just think that the focus seems rather narrow for HS students but maybe you saw it as an introduction to medicine?

@grx567 yup, though most of the faculty lectures and wet labs were focused just on the heart, I found it really fun and helpful for my future career in medicine  We also had brief anatomy lecture everyday that covered broader topics.

@grx567‌ Are you attending the program?

No just found it interesting and wanted to pass the information on to others.

One of the best times of my life, super fun program last year.

@actingangel3912‌ that’s awesome :0 I start late July so I have to attend program 1. I wish I can meet you guys! I heard program 1 is mostly pre-med students so I’m somewhat nervous.

@Meimay‌ I’m program 1! and I’m a high school junior from canada :)

@boondoggle‌ awesome!! Can’t wait to meet you! :)
