Attending UCLA after declining admission

So long story short: I was accepted to UCLA for Fall 2010, and I declined their offer of admission, opting instead to go somewhere farther. However, due to personal reasons, I would much prefer attending UCLA as it's closer to my family. Is there anything I can do about my situation at present?

As far as the specifics, I don’t know the process, but I would start at admissions office talking to a representative. A friend of mine declined admission and went to Stanford for like a month or something and decided not to go there anymore. They were then granted admission again to UCLA and is a happy camper here. Please call admin, prob ASAP cuz your housing is prob screwed up as well as efan so they can advise you on what to do.

Thank you for the information! Do you happen to know how long it took for UCLA to process your friend’s request?

Sorry, I don’t know the specifics, but please call admissions office number tomorrow and try to get ahold of someone so you can start the year off-

Best of luck!!!

Well, I called today, and they said I had to send in a letter of appeal for a late SIR… The process could take three weeks, and it’s not for certain that the appeal will be granted. Sigh. I’m disappointed. Does anyone know what I should write in the letter besides my reasons?
