My SAT instructor told me the readers get paid more for doing it faster. They spend an average of one minute on each essay. So basically, if you have nice format (5 par), fill up the space, use good vocab, have titles underlined (come in with two-three sources to apply; you can find a way to make anything work), you can get a 12. In that quick one minute, they won’t notice your minor grammatical mistakes. They’re looking for a structurally sound essay with applied examples. that’s all. I’m working on this approach and my eassys seem to be improving

Messing around with the norm: I was able to get a 12 by only using one example. Yes that’s right, there’s no need to bring in that history passage along with a literary example. One solid example is definitely all you need to pull it off. Oh and fill in both pages x]

Some people told me that If I am reluctant to have adcom officers read my SAT essay, I can check some box to keep my essay from them. Is that info correct?

i hope someone can answer my question

anyway, thanks for ur responses… im beginning to feel comfortable with making up facts in a book in order to support my thesis.

on a side note… my direct hits just came in today… lmao… 365 words. 4 days. i’m ready

can a few of you guys who got 11s or 12s post your introductions or conclusions? (or both!)

It’s so unfair that we can’t really control how our essay looks to the reader, so I was hoping to get an idea of what they look for. (And BB essays suck, in case you were about to refer me there :p).

Thanks!

i can do this alllllllll day lol

I thought your question was already answered lol.
Anyway, think about this: would you rather have a 2400 with an inconsistent essay, or a 2000 with factual consistency?

Or better yet, why not just have 2400 with factual consistency? The college admissions have better things to judge its applicants by than their SAT essay.

very true indeed.

bumppppppppppp

i STILL feel unprepared even though i am ready to make up facts in novels. ugh

bump .

@i took the sat: Honestly, almost no emphasis is put on your SAT essay in admissions. Some universities (i.e. Georgetown) don’t even consider the writing section at all. Just focus on getting a 12 on it and you’ll be fine.

Worry more about how you write than what you write. The examples you use really aren’t that important.

okay thanks… i’m just under stress haha…
