Attention all figure/synchronized skaters!!!!

attention all figure/synchronized skaters!!!

interested in synchronized skating and want to continue skating in college? NOW YOU CAN!

The Cornell University Synchronized Skating Team is entering its 8th season next year in the nationally qualifying collegiate division and we are looking for talented skaters to skate with us! Synchro experience isnt necessary, but you have to have at least juvenile moves in the field in order to join. We have made it to nationals consecutively for the past 3 years, and this year, we became the best NY state collegiate synchronized skating team. ** WE ARE THE ONLY IVY LEAGUE UNIVERSITY WITH A COLLEGIATE TEAM AND THE ONLY IVY LEAGE UNIVERSITY TO SKATE AT US SYNCHRO NATIONALS!!!! **

bump it up :)

ummm, synchronized skating doesn’t seem like much of a sport. as a hockey player, I know.

That’s like saying ballet is not much of a sport…until some football players tried it, most of their leg muscles were twitching after one work out.

I totally agree… I’ll match my daughter who is a figure skater up against a hockey player any day complete with toe pick!!!

REALLY? REALLY NOW? you are really going to say that? AS A FIGURE SKATER i can tell you that i could beat you in any race any day. lace up your skates. ill see you at lynah. try and go faster than me. ive been skating for over 16 years. anyone can take a stick and hit a puck. not that hard

gocubsgo- from my perspective, hockey doesnt seem like much of a sport. i agree with laurstar. hitting a puck? not that hard

any synchro/figure skaters get accepted? LET ME KNOW!!!

bump it to first page :]P

BUMP BUMP BUMP

email me if you are interested!!!

What if you’ve figure skated in the past but aren’t too good and would like to try sychronized skating? Are there tryouts and all that?

i’m going to agree with gocubsgo and say that synchronized skating isn’t a sport…neither is figure skating.

juliet, yes there are! we have try outs in the fall

all you need to have is your intermediate moves in the field in order to skate on the collegiate level. we have had figure skaters in the past who started synchro in college

and pretty_vacant: go watch the haydenettes or miami university senior teams on youtube. then you try doing it. come back when you are at their level.

@CUAmbassador11:

Why would I want to be at their level? And why would I waste my time watching that? I watch sports, not figure/synchronized skating.

Have you tried hockey? Maybe you should come back when you’ve watched some hockey games and tried playing it.

oh i have tried hockey and i watch hockey games like its my job. again, NOT HARD.

plus if figure skating “isnt” a sport, then why is it the most watched winter olympics event? answer me that one

but in all seriousness, this topic is NOT ABOUT bashing figure/synchro skating or trying to “prove” why hockey is “better”. its about recruiting new skaters for the upcoming year. if you arent interested or cant contribute more to this, then you are jsut wasting your time and portraying yourself to be [insert a slew of inappropriate for cc words].

I know twins from my school who are figure skaters. I believe they’ll compete for Canada at the 2010 olympics. Not sure how similar the two sports are.

They are currently sophomores, so that’ll give you time to recruit them (if that’s what you want).
