I am a Chinese American girl that goes to a super competitive high school in NorCal, where 70% of our school population is Asian. Most of my peers hope to become engineers and/or researchers in biology. However, I am different.

I hope to major in Finance/Economics/Business Administration, with an emphasis on International Relations/Political Science, depending on the schools I get into, b/c I realize that not all schools have Business Administration or Finance as an undergraduate program of study. I hope to become either a corporate lawyer, or an analyst for an investment bank and eventually an investment banker.

I didn't know what I really wanted to do up until last year, b/c I vacillated between business and law. My parents say law, but I think banking might be more interesting. Still, both professions are very competitive, and so if I don't become either, I want to work in international relations, perhaps for an US Embassy or for the UN.

By the way, I'm applying to:

Yale (EA), Columbia University of Chicago, NYU Stern, USC Marshall, and Santa Clara University

I want to apply to Georgetown University as well, but my school has a lot of people applying to privates and so I don't want to burden the counselors. Plus, the more people that do more and more private schools, the more likely that quality control goes down...

I understand that Yale and Columbia are both dream schools; I do not consider myself likely to get in, but I will apply anyway to the best of my ability.

Interests:

I love fashion from all over the world. Whether it be Milan, or Paris, Madrid, or even Seoul and Tokyo and Hong Kong, I enjoy how people express themselves through clothing.

I like to watch Korean/Japanese/Taiwanese/Hong Kong dramas, b/c it's a way to see how people from other places live. I listen to a lot of house, techno, and electronic music, and of course, KPop and JPop, and the occasional CPop.

I spend my summers in China, and I've been exposed to people from so many places, so I'd like to see what the rest of the world thinks.

I find foreign relations fascinating, especially what US foreign policy is now, since our reputation and economy aren't exactly stellar now.
Okay, thanks for reading this if you did :)
