Attention Fall 2013 Transfer Hopefuls: Sharing My Thouhts

If you're like me, you are dreading going back to your current institution after spring break. But alas! We're almost there. The past months have been a long haul of essays, proofing and applications but, its in the hands of admissions now. Lets do the best we can to make it through (hopefully) our last semester at our current schools.

Not much substance to this post but let us know that we are not alone in our goals. Good Luck to All

Feel free to share motivation if you have any!

Edit: of course I spelled 'thoughts' wrong

anyone else totally finished with the app. process (as in sent mid-term reports)???

I’ve already received my decision
priority admissions is a great thing
good luck to everyone though

Still waiting on three schools. 1st decision was a denial but that was a long shot anyway. Hopefully the others will atleast be conditional decisions.

you asked for motivation, this quote has been getting me through the process…heard it from a TedTalk

“brick walls arent there to keep us out. they are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. brick walls are there to stop the people who dont want it badly enough”

So, I’ve just finished applying to all my schools, and now I’m freaking out that I won’t get in anywhere! I applied to (in order of interest)

Smith
Wellesley
Bryn Mawr
Hampshire
Mount Holyoke

I know that Smith isn’t supposed to send letters until late March, so I’ll have to wait even longer for the rest.
I have a 3.85 GPA, good LORs, an interesting life story, and good extracurriculars, but I’m so worried.
Anyone else? It’s better to freak out together than to freak out alone ;)

I’ll be sending out my mid term reports this week, hopefully Tuesday. Applying to:
UVa
UNC
UCONN
Duke (long shot)

I was very fortunate and found someone in my professional network who was a former higher up in Duke’s admissions who gave me a lot of advice with my application. My marks are on the lower end of their acceptances but I feel I maxed out my application’s potential so its up to them at this point.

To be honest, I just really want to go to UVA, possibly even over Duke. I just loved Charlottesville and the campus that much. I have a feeling it would come down to financial aid. Fingers crossed. Good Luck to all! This community always seems to do well.

I luckily got into my top school as a transfer student, so I’m pretty satisfied right now :). I just can’t wait to get out of here though. My classes are so boring and so unmotivating but I know I have to pull through.
