Attention, Memory, Concentration Enhancers

Do any of you take anything that attributes to enhancing your studying/educational experience? A pill or a liquid that helps when it comes to study and concentration?

Though I've always labeled myself as a hardcore procrastinator, as of lately I've sort of ventured off into whether or not there is something else wrong. Thoughts of ADD and related learning disabilities arise. Though I have not been diagnosed in anyway, it's natural to assume and self diagnose. I'll be brining it up shortly with my doc, but are there any all natural approaches?

Share your experiences.

Yes.....................don't procrastinate, lol

I like to read up on neuroscience research/reports in my free time....they study the effects of environmental factors(foods, smoking, stress, etc.) on memory/concentration.

I use Adderall or methylphenidate (whichever I can get) relatively liberally around tough times in my schedule (midterm weeks when I have 5 midterms in 3 days for example, sometimes finals, etc.). Excellent for concentration and energy level while studying.

I doubt I have ADD, but who knows - those drugs help me concentrate, but they do that for everyone.

Well, you can get a prescription (ADD is ridiculously vague, so it's pretty easy to get a prescription from a doctor if you're good at lying), or you can ask a friend (out of luck if you ave no friends with a prescription, but that's statistically pretty unlikely unless you're a loner).

Fresh air. Sleep. Good food. Seriously, try it some time.

Crazy Americans and your drugs. Sometimes it scares me.

I'm Canadian.

Canada is part of America.
I just blew your mind, didn't I?

Sleep;healthy food;perhaps magnesium and zinc supplements might help

42, afruff is religious. Mind him. I got family in Canada, and I absolutely adore Canada. Except for the fact conservatives seem to be running wild right now?

I take melatonin and get in roughly 7-8 hours a night. I take omega3 capsules as well. Fiber. Probiotics. GNC once a day supplements. What else? Vegetarian too. It doesn't help. I've tried concentration techniques in that I count down from 100 to 0, but I can barely get down to 80 after a couple of months. I've tried some forms of meditation and what not. I'm a type B personality as well. Haha, just gave you my wrap sheet.

I just procrastinate like no other. When I am studying, my skills in doing so are so toned its ridiculous. I can recall the most unnecessary facts. Never the necessary ones. This has and hasn't hurt be academically. From a liberal arts point of view, this has helped. Quantitatively speaking, this has hurt.

When did I say I was religious? I never even implied that in my past posts.

Diagnosis is hard. If I go off the wall, I guess it means I don't have it.

It's an upper, so we'll see. Plus, it's mainly supposed to help with narcolepsy.

Concentrations enhancers? Like, steroids for your brain?

Seems like no one can function without taking some pill to help them accomplish a simple task.

lol most of these enhancer create dependency, i wouldnt use it unless i really know that i cant go alone with out it

AeroEngineer3141: I can function easily without any sort of drugs whatsoever. But when you have 5 different midterms in 3 days and papers/projects due 2 days before them, there's just no time for functioning easily. One must function optimally. And, like it or not, the reason amphetamines and methylphenidate are used so widely is because with them, one's concentration is optimized.

Just ask the US military, who have used such stimulants for many years. Because they work.

I was under the impression only the air force used it...cause they had late nights. YOU KNOW I'M SAYING?!

Or is that the Navy?
