Hi,

I know it probably varies from ALO to ALO, but how formal is the ALO interview intended to be? I have nice pants/shirt/jacket/tie prepped for my nomination interviews–should I just wear that?

Thanks for the input.

Yes…

I was afraid of overdressing.

I think you would be surprised as to how many under dress. This is a job interview for a slot in what may be the most competitive class ever. My son’s ALO thanked him for showing up properly attired (in a suit).

As did my son’s ALO in what may have been the 2nd most competitive class (2015) ever. Overdressing would be to show up in a tuxedo. Wearing a suit (if you have one) is…IMHO…dressing for success and sending a signal to your ALO that you are a serious candidate that wants a favorable recommendation from him/her.

Good Luck!

I wore a business full-sleeved blue shirt, khaki dress pants, a tie, and sweater vest, and dress shoes of course. ALO seemed pleased
