I don't think "appealing" the decision is possible. From Ross' standpoint, you get another chance already--you can apply as a regular admit (not a pre-admit) after your first term as a freshman.

Um...I haven't heard a decision yet (I applied/got in to Mich later than my classmates) but those in my school who applied early got a decision.

Person that got accepted (applied early October, accepted to reg UM early Nov) had:

Something like 32 ACT
Prob a 4.0 unweighted (our school has horrible grade inflation)
Top 10%
AP Macro/Micro/US Hist (I believe 5 Micro, 4 Macro, 4 US Hist)
EC: On DECA, our team goes to nationals ever year. Also Varsity soccer captain.

Hope that helps somebody.

pyro,

did your friend receive a phone call asking for his tshirt size like other people claimed?

Yes. He got a phone call, they told him congradulations on being accepted. Then they asked him for his tshirt size.

Later that night he got an email confirmation with another "Welcome to Ross" video.

I can confirm that antiuclub got in. I saw the dope t-shirt and the acceptance letter. He got in ED to Wharton, so he had to withdraw his application. That's all.

so what does this dope t-shirt say? is it just blue with "michigan business" on it?

is the preferred admit process rolling?

If those on CC are honest when saying they were either rejected or accepted to Ross, then I believe thats an indication of rolling. I can't say for sure.

It is rolling starting in December, I remember reading it somewhere as well as being told by a admissions conselour.

Yes, it's rolling. Last year, I recall the first posts in January... but since this is the second year, December sounds reasonable. Also, if it's anything like last year, the posts indicated that most applicants heard in the mid-March/early April time frame. With the switch away from AA, they may well be on the same schedule and lose some of the time saved by going through the process once before.

In short, I wouldn't get too anxious if you don't hear anything until toward the latter part of March. It seems like they try to beat the March 30 - April 1timetable of many of the top schools... although several posters were accepted well into April.

Has anyone else gotten a Ross Preferred Admit?

bueler? bueler? this wait is killing me. Ross pre-admit would be such a sick opportunity.

My D applied Ross-Preferred, and umich had received all her materials on Dec 20. She received 4/4 email on 01/16. Yesterday, she was admitted to LSA. I called the admission office, was told that she is now admitted to LSA only, and the business school is still reviewing her application to determine her B.B.A admission; did not ask when Ross decision will be made.

Yeah so I submitted my Mich app in like mid november, but apparently my school didn't send in my transcript, rec, school info until like...a week or two ago, past the Jan 5 deadline. Does anyone know if this removes me from consideration as preferred admit? I'm hoping the fact that I submitted my part well in time saves me. I emailed them as soon as I found that out but haven't been responded to. Meh.

I'm sure you'll still be considered.

they should just make ross a 4-year program like wharton.

If I applied for Pre-business in lsa, is there the same as applying for preferred admission to Ross?

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure you have to apply to Ross on a different application
