Hello! I'm the founder and president of an extracurricular group called the International Youth Correspondence Council. Basically, I'm interested in getting in contact with international students to form a network of Commissions of the IYCC in areas across the globe.

What we're interested in doing is creating this network to start a forum with teens internationally in which we discuss the perception of one another and the issues facing our nations so as to create a group of well-informed, internationally minded youth of tomorrow (totally sounds like an infomercial, but bear with me).

First I'd like to start off by rounding up people RIGHT HERE who are interested in being involved (CC = international super genius haven). Once we've become acquainted, I'd like to help whoever is interested establish a Commission in their town or city. Once we've done that, I'd like to initiate the aforementioned forum and THEN I'd like to get proactive...

I figured that once we've become informed about the issues facing our nations we could zoom in and focus on particular issues that specifically concern, or even alarm us. Me and my Council members are prepared to get creative; letter-writing campaignes, awareness campaignes in our own towns and cities and alerting potential partnership organizations in our areas to put pressure on situations that we deem wrong...

Example: Hate Crime Protection in the United States, the inefficient treatment of the homeless in certain cities, etc.

I think this is an excellent oppurtunity to rally youth internationally against the problems we see, giving us insight into communities far beyond ours and ultimately helping us to realize that we are ONE international community. I'm really excited!

So if you're interested, leave a comment in this thread indicating so and then pm me so for details.

Thank you!
