Letter of Rec

Do they place any weight on the letter of rec? I didn’t see any place for it, so I didn’t bother asking anyone to submit one for me…

i was told if u submit one they do consider it

Do you use the same form as incoming Freshmen, or what?

i didnt i just got a written rec letter from a professor

My son transferred 2 years ago and he did not send a letter, not sure how much weight would be given, but it probably wouldn’t hurt any.

yea i definitely dont think it"ll count against u if u didn’t send it but as mkm said it wouldn’t hurt

mkm56 do you remember you son’s stats coming in

His stats were a gpa of 3.7 from a private, top 30 University. Transferred as a junior. He didn’t have much in the way of ECs–just intramural sports, a chem award and some volunteering.

Did ne one go to transfer day on feb. 20…if so how’d it go and did they say nething about releasing decisions a little earlier then April 15th

bumpppppppp

I currently attend NC State and have a 3.34 GPA. I graduated high school with a 4.4 GPA and this is my third time applying. I was waitlisted last time as a sophomore transfer, so hopefully this year will be the one!

tarheel32 did u attend transfer day??

so did anyone get their status updated on the unc site? i submitted my app on march 1st, but i had already sent SAT scores/transcripts etc the week before. no change or update in status so far. anyone?

nope nothing for me just this:

Your application is complete. If the Admissions Committee needs any additional information, we’ll contact you by email and on your UNC homepage. We currently plan to notify all applicants of their decision on or around the following dates: Early Notification Freshman - January 15; Regular Notification Freshman - March 20; Transfer - April 21.

I’m assuming that we may see some changes after they notify the first year students on March 20

what do you have for ur fin aid status on application central demian

mine just says this…

We’ve received your application and will check it for completeness over the next few weeks. When we’re done, we’ll notify you – by email and on your UNC homepage – if any required credentials are missing. Please check your email and your homepage regularly.

when did you get yours in? mine doesn’t even say it’s completed!

I sent my Transcripts in Jan, then completed my application Feb. 20th and sent in my chk (via mail) for the payment the same day…at first they updated it and said I was missing my application fee and then about 3 days ago I got the update that my application was complete
