They want to have RECEIVED the materials by March 1st, unlike every other school I've seen before, whose application deadline has been the POSTMARK deadline!

So if you haven't sent yours out yet, do it ASAP.
I didn't realize this so I am now struggling to gather my finalize my materials and send them out tomorrow in the hopes of being granted some leniency. All this would be a lot easier if they just had an online application...

thanks for the post. Im sending mine overnight delivery today.

What makes you think that's what they mean though- Do they say it somewhere?
I read that it "must be returned by March 1" with returned probably meaning mailed out.

When I attended the information session a couple weeks back, the spokeswoman said that even if you happen to mail it out on March 1st for some reason you'll still be fine.

Actually, I just spoke with someone from the Undergrad Admissions office and she said that March 1st is the postmark deadline; so, as long as you mail out your material before or ON MARCH 1st, you're ok.

I also sent my app fee and my personal data form in the middle of January, and I still have not heard anything from Georgetown. I called and they said that the transfer apps are probably still sitting on a desk waiting to be filed due to their valuing of the freshman apps currently.

Oh, well I guess I was wrong haha. The rhetoric I saw in the documents made me think otherwise, since it said things like "must be received by" and "must be filed by." Well, I just wasted 24 dollars on overnight shipping, and probably sent in an immature app.

edit: oh yea and with the course catalog info, they said they wanted "academic regulations." I wasn't sure what this really meant, since I couldn't find anything analogous in my catalog, but I sent them the pages explaining the grading and unit system. Any ideas?

You scared the poop out of me! Tomorrow is the 1st and I was planning on heading to the post office and sending it all out by COB. I talked to the Admissions Office though and they said that as long as it is POSTMARKED by the 1st it is acceptable. However, I just completed the PROFILE and IDOC from CollegeBoard for Georgetown's Financial Aid process and I think that those materials have to be received BY March 1st. I overnighted them so hopefully they'll be there by tomorrow. We'll see....
