ATTN: Out-of-State Transfers to BERKELEY

Do you know of anyone that did it? How difficult and competitive is it? Also, I'm looking into Haas, so is that different? Thanks!

I know people from out of state that have done it, but not to Haas; they nonetheless had pretty kicka** academic records. I don't run with the business crowd, but I would think that since Haas is so prestigious, a lot of people are probably from out of state.

I was accepted as an out-of-state transfer student to UC Berkeley (not Haas) last year, but couldn't afford to attend. There's pretty much no aid for out-of-state freshmen, let alone transfers.

Oh, here are the numbers for out-of-state applicants to UC Berkeley as a whole:

310 Applied
64 Admitted
46 Enrolled

I unfortunately was one of those eighteen who did not enroll. 46/64 must be rather wealthy :(

For fall 2005, igarvey?

Yes, those numbers are from the Fall 2005 applicant pool.

igarvey, what kind of financial aid package did you receive from Berkeley? Was your EFC very low, did they offer loans?

Just wonder how bad it was... bad like no grants or bad like next to no loans either.
