Attn spring admits: what classes are you taking in fall?

Post your schedule! I'm interested in what other spring admits are taking in the fall at community college, especially for English. At the info session they recommended an English composition course, but I'm still not sure which one I'm going to choose. I could do one that fulfills GE Category V (such as Intro to Literature), or one that is the equivalent of USC's Writ 130, or just a basic composition class that transfers for credit but not GE credit.

Anyway, here is my prelim. schedule...still need to decide on the last two and call USC and make sure they are okay:

-Astronomy w/ Lab (fulfills the Science Cat. III GE)- 4 units
-Intro to Western Civilizations (fulfills Cat. I GE)- 3 units
-English??? (see above)
-Math or Foreign Language???

Anyone's opinions or comments welcome.

theres an articulation website that matches which course would be equivalent to writ 130 depending on the community college you’ll be going to until USC in the spring.

i just took 2 econ classes this summer and will be taking calculus, english writing and statistics this fall at fullerton college in orange county

Does Astronomy w/lab really fulfill the cat 3 requirement? My school doesn’t have an articulation agreement so I’m not sure what would satisfy the GE categories. Is there someone we can call at usc to check on this stuff over the phone prior to admission/credit evaluation?

Kulakai, Astronomy should fulfill the Category 3 requirement, but I recommend that you look up the class title and number (ex. Astronomy 101) and if you can’t get the Fall class preapproved online at Oasis, fax a preapproval request to USC’s degree progress to make sure the class transfers over.

I’m actually applying for next fall admission so I’ve been planning out this next year at the college I’m at. Wasn’t sure if my astronomy 101 + lab would be good enough or if I should take a Bio 101 + lab in case. I contacted USC via email and they said I’d need to come in and meet with some transfer reps but I was hoping I could just call someone over the phone.

Astro 101 + lab should be fine. Just double check with the transfer admissions officers.

Also, there is a website with the articulation histories for USC. However, the info is unofficial and to be used for informational purposes.

nhsharvard: That is exactly what I was looking for. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar.
