So I called the admission office yesterday to make sure they got my postcard saying I'll go to USC in the spring. The guy on the phone asked if I wanted to still be considered for fall. He said that one year 16 students accepted for spring ended up getting into the fall. Another year HUNDREDS got into fall. It all depends.

I don't know about you guys, but this gives me hope. (although if i'm still only accepted for spring im excited about that)

really? awesome :0) i'm also a spring admit, and i sent in a card (i indicated on the card i wanted fall admission, if possible). do you think it's necessary to call the admissions office to confirm that they received the card?

i have worked in the admissions office at USC on and off for about 18 months (i am a sophomore) and it is NOT necessary to call and confirm that they received your card ... however, calling and telling them something like that is always a good idea, my two roommates were both spring admits, and then after calling, they were put into fall registration

i called a few days after i send my card to confirm as well. hopefully i get readmitted for fall!

anyway yea, during the spring reception on 4/23 they basically said it depends from year to year some years with 0 and some with hundreds. AND that should it happen you may get a letter around mother's day... soooooo crosses fingers

i called today to double check that they had the enrollment card. (i sent my card in last week), and they still don't have it! they said i should wait till friday and double check with the office then..

actually, i called again today (thursday), and they have it. but the person i was talking to didn't know how many spots are open for the fall. she said i should just wait until next week (which is fine with me)

If we do have openings for the Fall 2006 semester, we will mail a welcome packet to the student, and they will have two weeks form the time it is received to notify us with their plans, and an enrollment commitment deposit."

that's the response I got after emailing them.

That's just sadistic! Serves them right if you decide to enroll somewhere else at this point. I'm sorry that they're keeping you on tenterhooks for so long :(

i'm suspicious of what they told you lonefreckle, because based on what everyone else is getting from phone calls, we should hear responses about fall admission as early as this or next week. maybe the person you talked to got the wrong information or something. ..

yeah, It makes more sense that we would start to hear now. but then again, when I was waiting to hear any decision at all, they told me I might be waiting until mid-April. This didn't happen, but it did for some people.

At this point, I'm just going to assume I'm going in the spring, so there's some certainty about where I'll be. Will you guys be very dissapointed if you don't get fall?

you never know.lol. hopefully we'll all hear soon.
if i can't go in the fall it's better financially for my parents, and i also have a job lined up for then...

GUESS WHAT
GUESS WHAT
GUESS WHAT!!!!
GUESS WHAT!!!!

I GOT INTO THE FALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started crying the second I got the phone call. I can't believe it! My love to all you guys still waiting- seriously, don't lose hope. I did, and I got frustrated and everything, but it all worked out in the end. =) I'm so happy right now!!!

i called them, and the guy i was talking to told me he has no idea and i just have to wait :(. i guess it's more likely a no than yes at this point because there are alot of spring admits who want to move to fall.

that's great that you got in because didn't USC tell you you wouldn't hear until the summer?
