Here's one to test your thinking. I posted this in the transfer section...but they either don't like to respond over there or are slower in reacting. So, I'll ask my questions here. This is my post from the transfer section:

Hey everyone. I'm currently a senior in high school applying to UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCSB, and UCSC. My profile is at this link:

But if you don't want to read it, here's the abridged verson: 4.17GPA (3.82 un-weighted; 4.00UC); 300+ hrs comm service; I SUCK at standardized tests! (SATI: 1740; SATII: Math590, Bio590); I'm over-involved with the school music dept.; great essays; Awards: Boys State nominee, Nat'l Youn Leaders Conf., etc.

I have a pretty good idea where I will (and won't) get in. My favorites right now are probably UCD and UCSD, which I don't feel bad about getting in. I'm interesting in finding out more about transferin after 2yrs at a CC. I know about the TAP's and TAA's and all those things; I just was wondering these 2 things about being a CC transfer:

1) What shows up other than your CC GPA? Do any high school awards, comm service, etc. show up on the UC application?

2) If I got a GPA between 3.80-4.00 (I'd do my best for the 4.00) at a CC and made my self look good by using awards, comm service, or whatever I can get credit for, would I get in to UC Berkeley and/or UCLA?

Thanks everyone,
