Looks like it's just SAT I and II scores, not AP

no, i checked all my AP scores too

wow. thanks!!!! i was able to check my AP scores. hehe!
i did better than i expected in some of them. hooray!

You probably want to go ahead and claim credit because UT is instating some new policies that haven't been put into that system yet that may prevent you from getting credit later (i.e. I don't think they are taking a 3 on Eng Lit for 2006-2007, but I was able to claim it).

nice find krishnasb.!

Got my scores. Did great on one, terrible on the other, and still waiting on the last one because I took it late.

I also have a question, I can get credit for both M 408C and M 305G but when I go to the catalog it says credit may not be earned for 305G if you take credit for 408C? Even though it says that it still gives me the option to petition for both. Should I petition or will that screw around with my 408 credit?

i think you should claim credit for 408C first cuz thas more important, and then if it stil lets you after a few days, claim it or 305G....MOST IMPORTANTLY, ask an academic advisor for thier opinion 1st

I didn't write any AP exams and so I can claim credit for only M305G. BTW, how do you contact an academic advisor?

Also I've got a C for 4 physics courses, 302K, 302L, 102M, 102N. It's better to not claim credit for that, right?

you can claim the credit without claiming the grade, so you should do that to get credit for your physics courses. (in general, you shouldn't claim the grade unless it's an A)

i'm just not sure how the online petitioning thing works. how do you select whether you want to claim the grade or not.

also, for the US govt test, we still have to take the texas test. should i take the test asap (like at the start of school) so i can still claim the grade. what is the deadline to petition to count the credit and the grade? sept. 15?

What happens if I claim credit without the grade? How will it affect my transcript and my gpa?

to my knowledge, it won't. you'll just get credit. i'm not sure what shows on the transcript. i know it will say you got it from APs. i'm not sure if it will show your score.

in any case, i would claim it b/c that's 4 physics classes you can get out of. that is, unless you're a physics major. or something related. if you're a lib arts or something like that, claim it. i'd say there's no reason not to just claim it. talk with an academic advisor to confirm though. (search around at the UTexas webbie) i met my advisors during orientation so i've been shooting emails to them for a while.

Any of u know why I can't see my AP credits from Junior year? I think I might have sent them under a different name (my legal name spelled a little differently) How can I find this score?

if its not letting you claim credit and only a score wait until sept. 15th so that it will have to give you only credit and not a grade. if you claim credit only, it wont affect ur GPA, but it will say "CR" next to the class on ur transcript. I wouldn't claim a grade unless its an A. if its anything lower, claim credit. If ur not sure, wait until orientation to meet with ur advisor (u'll be assigned to them there) and then discuss all question with them.

krishnasb, you mention that UT won't be accepting a 3 for eng/lit credit. Do you know if they won't be accepting 3's for eng/comp? When will this take effect? Is there somewhere on the web site to look up this info?

^actually, I mentioned that. i don't believe they will be taking a 3 on eng/comp either, but there is no way to know because their website has not been updated, but if Eng Lit is only a 3 now I would expect the same for Eng Lang & Comp. Go ahead and claim it NOW

He is just going to be a senior this year and will be applying this fall (he is an auto admit 1%), and will be attending fall of 2007. Can he claim the credit now? Or as soon as he is admitted? Should he call admissions? Thanks for your help.

My understanding is that you have to be admitted and then you can claim. Not sure if that can happen before the changes go into effect which is around mid-September.

Darnit!! I am going to call and see what they have to say. That would be a drag if it changes the year before he goes! It would be just his luck though, he seems to be in the class (at least in his hs) where all they new changes are being made!!
