Attractiveness of Student Body

I read something somewhere that Colgate was one of the more attractive student bodies. I am no more vain than any other living breathing human being, but even so I need to know, how good looking are the women

...and men?

This Is Serious Business... Rawr

I guess the best way to describe the student body is that if you were to visit and walk around campus, you would think "wow, these are really good looking people." The average person is a very clean cut, handsom guy or cute girl. However there are few jaw dropping people, but of course this isn't some mediocre state university. For the level of school it is, the student body is more than satisfying.

The best looking of all LACs :) Even Amherst.

i like pretty people..

i don't like prissy pretty people.....

i mentioned this in another colgate thread, but when my S visited, he definitely noticed how good looking the girls were (he didn't comment on the guys).

{{The best looking of all LACs Even Amherst}}

TMP is correct, 99% of the women look like J Crew models.

Midd is close though :)

what about the men??????

hopefully they are ugly

...less competition

My roommates and I have talked about this very subject a couple of times. All I'm going to say is that we heard the same kinds of things that you guys are saying and after a few months here, we are all disappointed.

Colgate13- either you are a superficial jerk who have super high standards for women's looks or you forgot to take off your sunglasses to see that many of the Colgate women actually tale care of their bodies unlke many other schools I've been to!

i heard from someone that the student body is good-looking considering how prestigous Colgate is. Is this more accurate?

in response to the following quote:

you don't have to be good-looking to go to a prestigious college/university...you need to be smart, interested, and intellectually curious, etc.....

i didn't mean that you have to be good-looking to get into a good college! i just meant that someone told me that Colgate students are good-looking in comparision to the students of other schools of similiar quality/caliber. i hope that makes more sense...

oh for crying out loud, haha, this thread is getting ridic! when i visited colgate i did notice an abundance of girls who seem to be both smart and attractive. the boys also seemed decent if you like athletes. athletics are important to a lot of kids there, so most of them are in shape and taking care of their bodies. it's not really all that important, though!

cornell and colgate are fairly comparable academically; however, the girls at cornell are atrocious, and the girls at colgate are amazing (at least from visit to each)

Colgate and cornell academically? That's a stretch.....

why is it a stretch? is cornell like that much better than colgate? im naive, so id appreciate elaboration!

First off, I don't appreciate being called a "superficial jerk" over something as subjective as this. I was being honest about my school. The level of girls and guys here is not the same as some southern state schools. If you expect to see your classmates all over fashion magazines you'll be disappointed. Also, I have no idea who you are so don't take this personally.

Second, I never called you nor anyone else fat.

Third, I would say that students here are good-looking in comparison to the students of other schools of similar caliber.

Fourth, don't judge the attractiveness by one visit. There are certain kinds of people who are walking around at certain times. Based on a whole set of factors, you probably only see certain subsets of people here.
