how come you had the weird bite corrected? i would probably fiercely resist something like that by finding research to confirm my suspicion that it’s better to take a hands off approach because i’m fearful of pain :/.

Ouch jimbo, I hope ya feel better too!

Did you get the surgery because you had a severe overjet? I am curious because I have a pretty bad overjet, my front incisors can’t even touch my bottom ones. They are far ahead horizontally than the bottom ones. Overjet is different from overbite. I did some search about how to correct a bad overjet and found that one method is to have a jaw surgery.

Sadly yes I must say living in southern California looks defiantly matter

How dare those looks defy you? I suggest you see a plastic surgeon, there are plenty in socal.

My upper jaw was too far back, and skewed. My lower jaw was too far forward, and skewed the other direction. My teeth only met at the back right molars. This was pretty well-disguised for years, as my teeth sort of “caved inwards” in such a way that it just appeared as though I had a jaw that was a little more prominent than usual, but when I decided I would like to be able to eat, and smile with my teeth, this was the only way.

The opposite, actually. Underbite.

okay i hope it works.
