I'm afraid that the "typical" students (the atypical CC people you're looking for) are huddled in a corner after having lurked and read the posts here, and are too depressed to come back to CC after unfairly comparing themselves to the few who are here. Good luck, I hope you can lure them out of their funk, and back to the real world!

I guess it could be said that your SAT is commensurate with your GPA, Backtothestars. It does not need to be hidden. However, even I dislike the Chances board, even though if the other fora are indicators that almost 50% of CCers are accepted into top schools.

My D has about a 1900, a 3.4, and her rank is awful because of how many smart kids there are at her school. She might not even break 25%. There goes any merit money from the NJ state schools.

Meh, I don't think I'll get into a good school with my stats. Not to be whiny, of course, but this site really is rather discouraging for the average student. ^_^

Not saying that I have a problem with that. It's just that I used to think I was a match for a lot of decent schools and now it's more like... wow, they have some applicants that are a lot better than me.

I've applied to University of Delaware, Goucher, Ursinus, Dickinson, and Bryn Mawr. Already gotten into two schools rolling, rejected from my first choice ED school which was incredibly discouraging for me.

I applied to Bryn Mawr, too, Backtothestars!! It's my first choice :D BMC = loff.

I don't really know where I fit in. I guess I'd fit in here better than anywhere else XD I'm a 3.5-3.6 UW (have to recalculate it still ahaha XD), 4.0 W, 2020 SAT, 29 ACT, 133/905 (:K). But, unfortunately, I only have one really good extracurricular (which I devote my entire life to x_x), no community service, and few awards. :/ Sooo yeah :/

I never really realized how bad it was that I had few extracurriculars and stuff, until I came here. Now I'm panicking.

I may have a high rank and decent weighted Gpa, but my recent 'C' in AP bio and reading about a bunch of Sophomores complaining about their 223's is making me want to crawl in a corner and die.

Bleah, there's so many kids at my school that study like five hours a night...craziness. Me, I study maybe 2 hours a week. I love it how the class rank/GPA never matches up with test scores here either. That and it's crazy how so many schools offer tons of AP and honors courses. We have 4 AP's and no honors.

GPA: 3.8 weighted, no idea unweighted, taken 3 of 4 AP
Rank: 26/162
ACT: 32
EC's: Job, a season of JV swimming, theater, library aide

3.67 w.
about 2000 on sat [based on practice tests & psat]

i'm taking APs & stuff, i do extracurriculars, but every class i take [that isn't like a core requirement] and every activity i do is for myself and not to get into college, so when i look back at high school when i'm 80, i'll remember having fun with my friends & pursuing what i loved, not being an asexual freak who stares at textbooks all day =)

Yep, CC can be scary. It's good to see that there are some normal people out there. But even though I'm technically an average student in numbers, I really do work constantly. I have no life -- it revolves around school -- and I'm really going insane. Just one and a half years....

3.4 GPA
202 PSATs (Haven't taken SAT yet)
Oh, and my school doesn't rank students? Is that bad? I've heard so much talk/obsessing over it, I'm kinda nervous.
