AU Basketball on the March

AU won last year’s Patriot League basketball tournament and represented the conference in the NCAA tournament. That was the first time AU had ever made to the NCAA tournament.

They’re looking to repeat this year. Since they finished first in the league during the regular season (13-1 league record), they have home court advantage throughout the tournament. They defeated Lafayette 78-56 in the quarterfinals on Wednesday and will host Army in the semifinals on Sunday. With the win over Lafayette, AU has won 11 games in a row and 17 of their last 18 games. If you’re in the mid-Atlantic region, you can watch the Army game at 12:00 noon on Sunday on Comcast Sportsnet.

If they win on Sunday, they will host either Holy Cross or Colgate in the league championship next week. You’ll be able to watch this game on ESPN-2. Holy Cross is the only Patriot League team that was able to beat AU this year; Holy Cross finished the regular season at #2 in the league, with a league record of 11-3.

Go Eagles!

After pulling out a 61-60 victory over Army on Sunday, AU will host Holy Cross in the Patriot League championship game this Friday. The game is at 4:45 pm EDT and will be on ESPN-2.

The winner will represent the Patriot League in the NCAA tournament.

The Eagles defeated Holy Cross 73-57 in today’s championship game…next stop is the NCAA tournament for the 2nd year in a row!

So, Villanova in the first round - wadda ya think, pswillia?

I’m a realist–while I hope for a victory, I will not make bold predictions.

Who the hell is reffing this game?!

I know that Nova is probably the better team, but holy macaroni call a foul on Nova when it’s on Nova and a foul on American when it’s on American!

GO EAGLES!

:( blew it
