I just read that a student doesn’t declare a major until end of sophomore year. Is that correct? My DS19 is only interested in the Business Entertainment degree. What if he doesn’t get in to that major after 2 years at the school? He’s very focused on BE and is only looking at schools that have it or something similar, like Music Business/Industry. Should we worry about this or assume he’ll be fine as long as he’s admitted into AU.
From the AU Website:
Direct admission to the Kogod School of Business is offered to high school seniors and transfer students who meet American University’s Undergraduate Admissions Standards.
All applicants, regardless of intended major, are evaluated using the same admission criteria and standards. Those who are admitted to AU will begin undergraduate studies in their selected major of study during their first semester (or take General Education courses if they are undeclared).
