<p>I’ve been lurking for months but haven’t posted. If you go to the facebook page for AU admissions (link is on the admission’s page), it says letters are going out December 16 (or no earlier than). Good luck to everyone!</p>
<p>Hahah I looked at the fb page and saw this comment, I think this is what iwrite is referring to. </p>
<p>Someone asked:When does the acceptance letters start to come out for ED? Will AU only notify through mail?</p>
<p>and the reply from admission was:
“We plan on mailing our Early Decision admissions decision letters on or about Dec. 16. As a rule, American University does not send electronic communication regarding admissions decisions to all candidates.
as a rule, American University does not call to release Early Decision admissions decisions to all candidates. Sit tight and your decision will be with you as soon as possible!”</p>
<p>So I guess we can all expect it after the 16th ! ahhh I can’t wait.</p>

<p>I sped home from school to check the mail but I didn’t get anything, nor did i get any emails or updates on my prospective student portal page. Did anyone hear anything?</p>
<p>I follow American University Admissions on Twitter and they just tweeted this:</p>
<p>“We spent our morning in the mailroom. The wait is almost over for Early Decision applicants!”</p>
<p>So basically… tomorrow. We’ll know.</p>

<p>ahhh I read somewhere, I think from facebook that some decisions are going out today and the rest on Friday, all by mail. I cant wait to find out, Im dyinggg. </p>

<p>I just got my acceptance email!! Odd, I didn’t even think they were going to send out emails, I thought it was only by post…? Oh well, WAY too happy to care right now

<p>Who sent you the email? Was it your admissions rep or just an admissions official from AU? I can’t wait to hear!</p>
<p>At first I emailed the internation admissions head, asking whether I could be notified by email (hell NO was I waiting another week or so for a letter to get to LONDON) Then after, my dad called, and they said they would send an email on friday. But then I checked my email and found two congratulations emails; one from the head of international admissions, and the other from the head of general admissions (or something like that…) SO EXCITED :)</p>
<p>i got in!!! i just got a call from my regional admissions counselor. :)</p>
